In the book published in April 2009 titled " WOMEN'S MOVEMENT" BY B.K.SUGUNA, it was written about Smt Saradamba Vemuri as under:
Vemuri Saradamba 1881-1898.
She was born Alluru Agraharam of Gudivada Taluka in 1881. Even at the age of 11yrs she wrote the Nagnajiti Parinayam. In her "Madhava Satakam" of 100 verses, she portrayed the unenviable condition women condemned to illiteracy. In those times women used to keep accounts in respect of milk and clothes entrusted to washer women by signs. She opined in her book that women could attain brilliance not by ornaments but by education. She castigated several superstitions. She pleaded for autonomy to women. It was very unfortunate that such an illustrious woman breathed her last at a young age of Seventeen."

Life of Smt. Vemuri Saradamba d/o Mahakavi Dasu Sreeramulu
('Yendaro Mahanu bhavulu' PP 79-80, Compiled by Dr.Madiraju Subba Rao,2009)

Smt Saradamba (a poetess even in her teens) was born in a village called Alluru Agraharam in Gudivada taluq, Krishna district. Her father was Dasu Sreeramulu a famous poet and actor in those days. Perhaps the poetess inherited the talents from her father. When she was nine she was married to Vemuri Ramachandra Pantulu son of Kamanna pantulu the then Tahsildar of Bapatla Taluq. It is gathered Saradamba had unquenchable thirst for music as well as literature from her early childhood. As a child of six, she was able to sing songs very melodiously after having heard only once. She possessed such an extraordinary mental make up that she started writing verses when she was barely eleven. At that age she came to be recognized as the authoress of a ‘Kavyam’ known as ‘Nagnajiti Swayamvaram’ Besides this she penned many articles and minor poems which appeared in journals like ‘Jnana Patrika’’ and ‘Jnanodaya Patrika’. She dedicated the poetry to the glory of God. It is said that she used to play exquisitely nice on Veena . It is a pity that she was married to a person who woefully lacked taste for fine arts. Consequently Smt.Saradamba had to face unpalatable situations and discouragement resulting in suffering as she could not give vent to her emotional spontaneity. Despite these impediments Smt.Saradamba managed to make a name in her literary field. It is really regrettable that this rare poetess experienced the icy hand of death in her 18th year. Her ‘Kaavyam’ Nagnajiti Swayamvaram’ consists of three cantos. It deals with the matrimony of Naagnajiti, (one of the eight wives of LordSri Krishna). She seemed to have treaded on the footprints of ‘Molla”. Her ‘Madhava Satakam’ is another literary piece wherein she depicts the deplorable conditions of illiteracy of the women of her times. Common features of unlearned women are graphically described in her lucid and sweet style while composing the verses.
