Consecrated Someswara linga at Alluru in 1760AD (1682 S.S)
1.The lingam was installed and consecrated by Sri Akkiraju , elder of the three brothers of Sri Brahmayya, the great grand father of Dasu Sreeramulu Garu (our great grand father) in the year 1760 A.D. The Lingam appeard 'Swayambhu' while he was digging the foundation to his new house. He built a Temple for the lingam named it Someswar Temple and got 30 Acres of land as endowment from the then ruler of Kamadana Estate, Sri Sobhanadri Rayana, using the good offices of his second brother Sri Raghunaykulu who was the Divan in the estate.

2.Dasu Sreeamulu garu erected 'Dhvaja Sthambham' in the year 1866 and started performing Kalyana Utsavam on a grand scale for the 'Parvathi sametha Someswara' on Vaisakha Poornima every year. This is being continued by the villagers even now. I had the honor and privilge to participate in that function two years ago.

3.Dasu descendents were the Dharma Karthas till about 40 years ago when the temple administration was taken over by the Andhra Pradesh Goverment Endowments Department. Late Dasu Purushothama Prasad, S/o Dasu Govinda Rao garu was the last Dharma Kartha from the Dasu family.

4. At present the condition of the maitainance of the temple and rituals is really pathetic inspite of it having land endowment. It may be improved and brought back to its past glory if the higher athorities in the Govt takes interest.
